Okay, so I know I keep saying "under $20 this" and "under $20 that," but I went over on this one. In reality, this is kind of a random outing, once again set in East Orlando. My goal with this outing was more to show off the variety you can find on this side of town, rather than have it be one coherent activity. But considering what a mixed bag it is, I think it kind of works. You be the judge:
Food South on Alafaya Trail, past the Waterford Lakes shopping area, lies Guavate. This Puerto Rican restaurant has seen a steady stream of business since opening not too long ago, and for good reason. Their menu features a huge selection of traditional and delicious boricua dishes. Although dinners can be pricey ($10+), try their $6.99 lunch specials from 11am - 3pm as well as their great appetizers starting at $2.99.
Dessert Just two stores down from Guavate is King Tut's Lounge. This hookah lounge is owned by an Egyptian family and offers a good variety of flavored tobacco, coffee, beer, and wine served in a relaxing atmosphere. Some nights feature belly dancers. Share a $8.99 hookah or try their Turkish coffee for $3.99.
Fun End your outing with some good old americana: mini golf at the Congo River just east of Alafaya on Colonial/50. Although I thought the price of $10.99 per person was a little steep, I came out thinking it was definitely worth it. If you take your time (and do the scavenger hunt while you play!) the 18 holes take about an hour and a half.
Total Cost for lunch, coffee or hookah, and mini golf: $22.00+ per Person
