Spring is definitely the time to be in Central Florida. Weekends are jam packed with all sorts of events and festivals. Most are outside, giving you a great opportunity to enjoy the warm weather before it reaches the typically scorching summer temperatures. Below are four events happening this weekend, three are free and one is $5 (but totally worth it).
But they represent only a tiny share of upcoming Central Florida events. For even more goings-on, I recommend checking out Orlando Weekly's thorough calendar of events, TheDailyCity's calendar (located at the bottom right of their main page), and local calendars, such as Downtown Orlando's upcoming events and the City of Winter Park's calendar of events.
Taste of Oviedo
This weekend, Oviedo will be bustling with thousands of guests there to visit over 200 food vendors, local artists, live music, and children's activities. Come between 9:00am and noon to witness the 17th Annual Citrus & Celery Cook-Off, celebrating creative dishes made with Oviedo's two original crops. For parking, take advantage of the free shuttle from Oviedo High School.

Spring Fest 2011
Sitting in a shady biergarten on a hot day, drinking cool draft beer and dining on an array of grilled goods. What else could you ask for? This biannual Fest (the other being their Oktoberfest) put on by the German-American Society of Central Florida also includes live music, traditional dancing, and of course desserts. Casselberry is about a 20 minute's drive from Downtown, but definitely worth the trip. One of my favorite annual events for sure.
