Outing: Orlando City Soccer Club

To commemorate the Orlando City Soccer Club's inaugural home game this Saturday, I wanted to create an outing around Orlando's newest sports team.  The weather this weekend is supposed to be excellent, so what better way to enjoy it than watching an outdoor sporting event, walking around downtown, and chilling at a rooftop lounge?

Food  A place close by that I haven't been to, but have heard good things about is the Paradise Island Cafe, located at 377 West Church Street.  Try some authentic Jamaican and Caribbean dishes off their menu, like the jerk chicken sandwich ($4.50) or the coconut shrimp with citrus dip ($5.25).

Fun  The inaugural home game takes place at the Florida Citrus Bowl on April 9th, 2011 at 7:30pm.  Tickets are* $12, $20, and $25.  For upcoming games, check out the complete schedule.  The opening game entertainment includes kids' activities, the OCSC dance team, fireworks, and more.

Drinks  Join the entire Lions roster for the after party at Baby Grand's Dueling Piano Bar, 45 West Church Street.  Drink deals include 5 for $15 domestic buckets - $3/beer.  The $5 cover is waived by showing your OCSC ticket!  If you prefer to stay outside, head over to Sky Sixty rooftop lounge, 54 North Orange Ave., where doors open at 10pm (no cover).  Enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend with half off all drinks until 11pm.

Total price for a Jamaican dinner, a soccer game, and drinks: $18.00+ per person.
