Florida's Juneteenth Festival 2011

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or African American Emancipation Day, has been observed  every 19th of June since 1866.  Today, it's an official holiday in 37 states and commemorates the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 and the abolition of slavery in Texas in 1865.  Juneteenth celebrates the struggles and triumphs of African Americans in the United States, as well as Black music, art, and literature.
