Looks like another fun weekend in Central Florida. This time it's definitely about movies and music. The weather is a little iffy this weekend, so be sure to have a back-up plan with an indoor event.
- Outdoor Music
- This year marks the 77th year of the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, from February 5th to March 4th. Ticketed events start at $20, but this weekend is your chance to hear your favorite melodies for free. Come to Winter Park's Central Park on Saturday between 1:00 and 2:30pm for Big Band Bach.
- Art Festival
- This Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00am to 6:00pm is the Uptown Art Expo at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs. Art on display, art for sale, art being created, food to eat, music to listen to, activities for kids, and more. Admission is free.
- Outdoor Movie
- As part of their Movie Under the Stars series, Avalon Park will be showing Groundhog Day on Friday. The movie begins at 7:00pm, but come as early as 6:00pm to enjoy free games, activities, and movie grab-bags.
- Film Festival
- Valencia College is hosting its 5th Annual Brazilian Film Festival this week. Come to the East Campus Thursday at 6:30pm for If Nothing Else Works Out or come to the West Campus on Friday at 6:30pm for Matraga.
- Indie Film Showcase
- On the second Sunday of every month, the Enzian hosts FilmSlam -- a showcase of local indie movies. Tickets are $5 and the event starts Sunday at 1:00pm.
- Nature
- This Saturday is a great chance to explore Florida's natural beauty at the free Wetlands Festival, from 9:00am to 3:00pm in Christmas, FL. Lots of fun outdoor things to do, like animal demonstrations, hayrides, and games.
- ArtsFest Events
- ArtsFest is going on this month, and this weekend is jam-packed with free events. Click here for the complete calendar and be sure to follow me on twitter for event notifications.
- Blues
- Come to the Amway Center plaza this Saturday from 3:00 to 10:00pm for the 6th annual Blues-B-Q. Free admission to hear various bands on two stages and BBQ for purchase provided by Bubbalou's and Ole Skool BBQ.
