St. Patrick's Day 2012 in Orlando

Since I wasn't able to write a weekend preview last weekend (I was out of town), I want to make it up to you, dear readers, by preparing a post every day this week.  So, here it goes.

This is a friendly remind that Saturday, March 17th, is St. Patrick's Day.  As always, you can find some events going on around the theme parks, most notably at Pat O'Brien's by Universal and Raglan Road at Downtown Disney.  But here are some great events close to home:

Downtown Orlando

One of the biggest parties Downtown will surely be the annual St. Patrick's Day Block Party and Festival at the Wall Street Plaza.  Starting the day of at noon and continuing into the night, come for $3 Irish whiskey drinks, $5 pints of Irish beer, and $5 Irish car bombs -- and, of course, live Irish music.

St. Patricks Day 2012

Just down the street is the The Harp & Celt Irish Pub and Restaurant (25 S Magnolia Ave), featuring three whole days of celebration.  Friday come for a traditional Irish dinner, drinks, and live music.  Saturday, check out the inside-outside party with a full-bar beer garden.  If you make it through the first two days, come down Sunday for the "I Survived St. Patrick's Day Party" Irish breakfast.

Not too far from Downtown is Paddy Murphey's Irish Pub & Restaurant in Baldwin Park (4982 New Broad St).  They will also be hosting an all-day block party.

For more events, check out Orlando Local Guide and the Orlando Beer Guide.  They did a good job covering events at places like:
  • World of Beer (UCF, Lake Mary, Dr. Phillips, Altamonte)
  • Oblivion Taproom
  • Frank 'n' Steins
  • Hagan O'Reilly's (Winter Garden)
  • Pub Orlando
