Orlando Weekend Preview: June 22nd - 24th, 2012

Despite the expected rain, here's what's going on in and around town this weekend.  Most of these events will help you still have fun on a rainy day in downtown Orlando, but I threw in a few outdoor events for the brave.

Sanford Art Walk
Hide from the rain in one of the many galleries open during the Sanford Art Walk, Friday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in historic downtown Sanford.

Indoor Music Events
Friday night starting at 9:00pm, the Social will host a Stevie Wonder & Motown Tribute.  Tickets are $7.  Be sure to check out other live music venues in Orlando -- like The Beacham, Firestone Live, BackBooth, and The Plaza Live -- for more live music events.

Library Time
Rainy days are a great opportunity to check out the immense list of library resources, including author presentations, art exhibits, live music, computer classes -- and, of course, all the books and movies you could ever want.

8th Annual Rumfest
Come downtown this Saturday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm for Wall Street Plaza's eighth annual Rumfest.  $20 tickets for all-you-can-drink rum, or go all out with the $30 ticket that adds food and more drinks.

Orlando Science Center
Take this wet weekend as an opportunity to check out the new exhibits at the Orlando Science Center, including natural disasters, Science Live!, PLAY, and the Cine Dome.

If you don't want to watch the Orlando City Soccer Club play in the rain, head over to the Harp & Celt pub to take in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Euro Cup.
