This Friday and Saturday, catch the last two days of the Florida Music Festival & Conference 2013.  Take a look at the schedule for 50 different live acts happening around town each night.  Get your $5 wristband at the door and try your best to catch 'em all.


Friday, April 19th

If you're an East Orlando resident, enjoy tonight's warm weather by heading over to Avalon Park for their monthly Movie Under the Stars, featuring FREE popcorn, activities, and a showing of Wreck it Ralph.  Activities start at 7:00pm; movie starts at dark.

Friday (and Saturday!) at midnight, come to the Enzian for Midnight Madness with a  showing of The ABCs of Death.  Experience 26 different stories directed by 26 different teams from around the world.  ($10 and not recommended for the faint of heart -- i.e. if you get grossed out easily.)

It's Friday, and for Altamonte Springs that means it's Friday Night Live at Cranes Roost Park, a FREE outdoor concert series with this month's special guest, Napoleon Complex.

Lastly, Check out HYPER-Bolic, 7:00pm at The Venue (511 Virginia Dr). Jessica Earley will present "an orchestrated explosion of dancers, puppets and video projections set to original music composed by Justin Tighe." – Jessica Bryce Young, OrlandoWeekly. $5 entrance for what will undoubtedly leave you with a good story to tell.


Saturday, April 20th

Happy Earth Day!  Come out to Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando this Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm for Central Florida Earth Day 2013.  Check out the schedule for this FREE event to see who's speaking, what there's to learn, where to eat, and what performances to see.


This Saturday's Mills50 Sidewalk Sale is your chance to get some great deals at ten of your favorite local businesses.  Stop by between 10:00am and 6:00pm for free drinks, huge savings, and an opportunity to meet  the local business community.

And if you're already in the area, you must stop by the 6th Annual Record Store Day at Park Ave CDs (Corrine Dr) for music, FREE refreshments from Stardust Video & Coffee, Blue Bird Bake Shop, The Matador and Orange Blossom Pilsner, Records, and more!

If you're looking for even more good deals, don't miss out on move-out day at UCF with their Knights Plaza Garage Sale in front of the UCF arena, Saturday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.  This is a free, public event and (unusual for UCF) includes free parking in Garage D and F.

Saturday is also the 4th Annual Hannibal Square Heritage Center Folk Art and Craft Festival.  Live music, soul food, artists, and kids' activities are happening between 10:00am and 4:00pm.


Sunday, April 21st

The Private Gardens of Historic Orlando Tour is a great way to sneak around rich people's yards without getting arrested.  See hidden gardens, watch artists paint, hear musicians play, and shop at the plant vendors between noon and 5:00pm.  Get your tickets at Handy Pantry for $10 in advance or $15 the day of.

Israel turned 64 this week and Altamonte Springs is celebrating with carnival games, Middle Eastern food, entertainment, and more at the Israel Independence Day Celebration this Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

If you're in Winter Park, don't miss Music at the Casa at Casa Feliz (N Park Ave) from noon to 3:00pm for free live dance performance in the restored farmhouse!

Lastly, don't forget the weekly Sunday farmers markets in Downtown Orlando and College Park's Sunday Brunch Market, as well as Winter Park Food Truck Sundays.
