Come to downtown Sanford this Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 7:00pm for the St. Johns River Festival of the Arts. This is a FREE event with plenty of arts, crafts, contests, live entertainment, and food.
Friday
Tonight, be there or be square! Park Ave CDs is celebrating The Weeks' album release with an In-Store Performance starting at 6:00pm with FREE beer.
Tonight starting at 6:00pm is Baldwin Park's First Friday Festival and Art Stroll. Art, drink specials, free samples, vendors, and more.
Saturday
The first Saturday in May is Free Comic Book Day 2013, so stop by one of the six participating comic book and games stores in and around Orlando!
From 9:00am to 2:00pm, stop by the Winter Garden Harvest Festival for a variety of workshops, demonstrations, tours, live music, a beer garden, local Orlando bloggers' bake sale, and, of course, plenty of fresh produce.
How and why I cannot answer, but I can tell you when and where the 1st Annual Running of the Chihuahuas is happening: this Saturday at 10:00am at Cocina 24 (151 Welbourne Ave, Winter Park). And who can say no to this littlegoblin sweetheart?
If you didn't lose all your savings on chihuahua betting, don't miss the 2nd Annual Broomstick Pony Derby, Saturday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Come on down to Central Blvd for food, people-watching, and racing. Proceeds go to the Urban Think! Foundation.
Whether you're really that fancy or not, the Hammered Lamb invites you to its Kentucky Derby Party starting at noon. Food and drink specials, like classy mint juleps and mimosas. For the hat contest, be sure to check out some of the great vintage places around Ivanhoe Row.
From 5:30 until the game starts, come to the Orlando City SC's Supporter Group member Drive Tailgate Party in Lot 11. Be sure to RSVP for free beer, raffles, and music. Then don't miss OCSC beat the Antigua Barracuda FC at 7:30pm (tickets start at $15).
Sunday
This Sunday starting at 10:00am, the Guangming Temple (6555 Hoffner Ave) will celebrate Buddha's Birthday with exhibits, ceremonies, and vegetarian festivity (11:30am to 3:00pm).
Join the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra this Sunday at 4:00pm at the Bob Carr for their 2012/2013 Season Finale Concert. Come see them close out their 56th concert season (not that youthful if you ask me...) with tickets starting at only $8. These kids are incredible!
The Timucua White House (2000 S Summerlin Ave) is once again showcasing local talent. This Sunday at 7:30pm they present the H2 Saxaphone Quartet. Tickets start at $5.
