It may be in the 80s this weekend, but Fall is here--or so they tell us. Celebrate the season at Orlando's Fiesta in the Park, happening in Lake Eola Park this Saturday and Sunday starting at 10:00am each day. Come see hundreds of artists, crafters, food vendors, kids' activities, and more. Also, click here to learn about riding the new SunRail train while you're there!
Orlando Greek Fest 2013 is your source for authentic Greek food, Hellenic dance performances, iconography demos, live bands and more. Check it out at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Maitland; admission is $3.
The American Indian Powwow is a three-day event at the Central Florida Fairgrounds with vendors selling artworks, leather, pottery, featherwork, dancing, and storytelling--plus food, like buffalo burgers. Admission is $6 adults, $3 kids/seniors/students/veterans with ID, and free for veterans in uniform.
This weekend's Food Truck Bazaars are happening Friday at 6:00pm in Kissimmee, Saturday at 6:00pm in Sanford, and Sunday at 5:00pm in Orange City (wherever that is).
Friday, November 1st
Haters gonna hate. But geeks don't have to read their books/watch their movies. That's the inspiration behind Skip Ender's Game - Orlando organized by Flame ON! and Geeks Out, the geeky voice of the LGBT+ community. They're pretty pissed off at author Orson Scott Card for his support of Prop 8 and for statements about the gay community so they're skipping the new Ender's Game movie and having a party at The Geek Easy instead! Karaoke, games, and drinks! No cover, but they'll be collecting money for the MAP Foundation, a local charity that helps organizations out that provide services to LGBT+ youth, like the Zebra Coalition. Whether you agree or disagree with the boycott this will be a great LGBT+ geek party at a local bar behind a pretty cool comic store- therefore, fun is to be had!
