FavFive: Last-Minute 2014 New Year's Eve Plans in Orlando

If New Year's Eve snuck up on you like it did for us, check out our picks for ways to kick off the new year in Orlando on the cheap:

1. Dance in the Streets
It's Thornton Park's 5th Annual New Year's Eve Street Party with the streets closed around Graffiti Junktion, The Falcon, and your other favorite locales, with an additional seven outdoor bars. Tickets are $20 on-site, but we found them for only $10 here.

Now, we'll let you in on a little secret... Wear your best mod-inspired outfit and sneak into The Falcon's side door on Hyer Ave to their free NYE 1960s Style party.

2. Party Like James Bond
We're making an exception to our $20 rule, because this party is too fun to miss out on. Party (and dress up) like a villain or '60s spy at Enzian's Bond's Back! New Year's Eve Party. It starts tonight at 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $25.

3. Hide Your Face
No, you didn't walk into a hipster version of Eyes Wide Shut--it's Redlight Redlight's Black & Red New Year's Eve Masquerade Party. Music by The Cook Trio starts at 10:00 p.m. with no cover and a complimentary toast at midnight. Wear your cocktail-iest clothes (black and red requested) and don't forget your mask.

4. Take in NYE on the Cheap
It pays off to be punctual on New Year's Eve. Your reward? Free cover and toast at midnight. Our recommendations include champagne toasts at Avenue Gastrobar and a beer toast at Frank & Steins.

If you're up in Mills50, stop by St. Matthew's Tavern for a cover-free champagne toast at midnight, or check out Will's Pub's $10 party, including a toast and live music.

5. Breakfast Buffet
If you've made it through the insanity that is Downtown Orlando on New Year's Eve, treat yourself to a $5 breakfast buffet at the always filling Avenue Gastrobar.
