Ready, set, explore! Check out the events and exhibits happening in Orlando this weekend, with a little something for everyone.
All Weekend
Whether you're a bibliophile or just building a home library to fool unsuspecting dates, stop by The Book Worm for their Annual Winter Clearance Sale this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. All softcovers 50¢ and hardcovers $1, as well as other deals.
Art + aquariums = the Central Florida Aquarium Society's brand new exhibit at the CityArts Factory. Come check out Immersed Friday and Saturday from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Free / $5 suggested donation.
This weekend is the Downtown Food & Wine Fest, but be sure to get your $15 tickets by Friday at midnight (otherwise they're $20 on-site). Check out dozens of food and wine vendors, as well as live music and other activities around Lake Eola.
Friday, February 21st
If you haven't been to one of the coolest spaces in Orlando, then don't miss "Taking Flight" Opening Night at the Snap! Space for exhibits, music, drinks, and a chance to chat with the artists. This is a FREE event, but please register.
Friday is the last day of the Hall of Fame Music Festival at Full Sail's back-lot. Don't miss a full day of free events and shows.
Saturday, February 22nd
This Saturday from 4:00 to 10:00pm, trek out west for the 3rd Annual Winter Garden Blues and BBQ Festival. Lots of blues, lots of barbecue--what more do you need?
This could either be really fun or turn out to be really weird: The Masquerade Crawl this Saturday at 8:00pm, starting at Chico's Dirty Tacos and Tequila. Grab your mask and a ticket ($15 advanced / $20 at the door) and crawl through four downtown venues with a motley crew of disguised bar patrons.
The Hourglass Brewery in Longwood is hosting a Chili Cook Off this Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00pm. $5 lets you taste all the entries and gives you $1 off all drafts.
Get nerdy! It's time for another installment of Science Night Live at the Orlando Science Center, from 8:00 to 11:00pm. Adults-only event with 3D movies, telescopes, trivia, lab experiments, all the exhibit, and more included in the $19 general / $17 student admission.
The February Pabst Bike Ride is this Saturday at 6:00pm, so grab your bike (with lights!) and meet at Lizzie McCormack's for biking, contests, and give-aways.

If the weather agrees, why not try Yoga in Lake Eola Park, a weekly, all-levels workout every Sunday at 11:00am (corner of Washington and Eola Drive under the big oak tree). While you're there, stop by the Orlando Farmers Market, also every Sunday, from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

I'm checking out Scratch in Winter Park and may stop by OSC on Saturday
ReplyDeleteGuys, I think OSC's Science Night is only $15 since it's a special event. This is from their website:
