Weekend Events

JAMFest - the Volusia County June Arts & Multicultural Festival - is happening this Friday through Sunday at various venues in DeLand. It includes the African American Museum's Juneteenth celebrations, as well as plenty of music, dancing, art, movies, food, and workshops. 

Friday through Sunday is also the 4th Annual Titusville Sea Turtle Festival, with three days of free events like block parties, beach strolls, kids activities, and of course turtle watching.

The World Cup starts this weekend, and you can get into it at The Pub Orlando's World's Finest Football Party. Enjoy drink specials and their rewards program. (The first US game is Monday, so we'll be sure to let you know about more screening options!)

Friday, June 13th

This Friday, it's time for another Mount Dora Art Stroll. It's going on from 6:00 to 8:00pm with plenty of art, drinks, and snacks in downtown MD.

This edition of PechaKucha Orlando asks, What's luck got to do with it? Hosted by The Orange Studio at 7:00pm (presentations start at 8:00pm), nine speakers tell stories and educate about all things Friday the 13th. Tickets are $10. UPDATE: SOLD OUT 

Second Friday also means Casselberry is putting on another Art and Music in the Park, complete with the Food Truck Bazaar, from 6:00 to 9:00pm at Lake Concord Park.

Saturday, June 14th

Grease those chains and grab your helmets, this Saturday is the Retro City Cycles Summer Scavenger Hunt. Meet at the shop at 1:00pm, the race begins at 2:00pm; 15-20 miles, $5.

Rainy summer afternoons are the perfect time to nerd out. For example, check out the Orlando Toy & Comic Con this Saturday from  10:00am to 5:00pm. Tickets are $10; kids under 6 are free.

This Saturday, House of Blues invites you to another Orlando Rocks! local music showcase, including Carly Jo Jackson, Reggie Williams, Lovestruck Robot, Groove Orient, and The Crazy Carls; tickets are $8.


Sunday, June 15th

Southern Fried Sunday is back, with more amazing music and some hearty home-cooked Southern food. $7 get you into the show and dinner.

Not sure what to do with dad this Sunday? Here are three picks:
  • Movie (and Food) Lover: Take him to The Enzian for a free beer, deals on manly food items, and a special 1:00pm showing of The Jerk
  • Music Lover: Head up to Sanford for Blues and Buffet at the Alley. Close by, Little Fish Huge Pond has live music and *whisper* a burlesque show at 7:00pm. 
  • Art Lover: If it's still raining the way it is now, you might want to dive into one of the exhibits going on this Sunday: Allures of Ancient Rome (CFAM at Rollins) and Icons & Idols (Gallery at UCF).
  • Outdoor Lover: Dads get free admission to Leu Gardens all day, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
