Take a sledgehammer to your unsuspecting piggy bank this weekend, because it's time for another Rifle Paper Co. Sidewalk Sale. Paper, Printing and Pops is happening this Friday (10:00am-7:00pm) and Saturday (10:00am-5:00pm) and features up to 75% off all samples, limited-edition prints created on-site, and a complimentary treat from the Pop Parlour.

Thursday, July 17th

Orlando Local Publisher of Short Stories / Literature
Local publisher Burrow Press is celebrating the release of Forget How You Found Us: 15 Views of Orlando Vol. III with a special Book Release Party, happening this Thursday at 7:00pm. It's a free event, so come out downtown's Gallery at Avalon Island for live readings; the Gallery's newest show, Untold Stories; drinks; and mingling. 

After the book release party, stop by Lil Indies for the caffeine-rich Culture Buzz - Coffee / Cocktails / Music event. The Lil Indies gang is teaming up with Slow Food Orlando and Abeja de CafĂ© (who are organizing September's Florida Coffee Symposium) to bring you specialty cocktails featuring Lineage Coffee's amazing cold brews, accompanied by rad DJ tunes. It starts Thursday at 10:00pm; no cover.

Back downtown, check out Taste of Church Street. Registration opens at 5:00pm (free) and includes free drinks and $1-$2 food items from the district's bars and restaurants, as well as goodies from sponsor booths. It's all part of the the 3rd Thursday Gallery Hop, happening across Downtown this Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00pm. 

Start celebrating Belgian National Day early (see below) with Ommegang in Oblivion, Oblivion Taproom's Belgian beer party with raffles, drinks, and food; 4:00pm to close.

Friday, July 18th

I hear that train a comin', it's rolling 'round the bend... and it's here for the July Conductor Crawl! Meet up with the pub-crawl at 6:00pm this Friday at Cafe Red in Downtown and crawl through the bars in DTO, Winter Park, and back to DTO. It's free to participate and features plenty of drink special, but be sure to get your SunRail ticket ($3.75 round trip)!

Happy Belgian National Day! How do you celebrate it? With fancy beer, of course! Events include Belgian Independence Day Bash at Barley and Vine Biergarten (5:00-?:00), La Chouffe Party at Gnarly Barly (6:00-9:00), and St. Arnoldus Day at Redlight Redlight (5:00-?:00).

Phat-N-Jazzy presents '80s Soul Nite II at Will's Pub, this Friday, doors at 9:00pm. Live musicians perform R&B classics, followed by DJ BMF spinning old-school vinyl. 

Saturday, July 19th

A little birdie told us about the Second Annual Orlando Beer Tour, which starts this Saturday at 7:00pm. Wear your lighted vests, glow sticks, team shirt (optional), and some good shoes--you're gonna be runnin'. Meet at the Lake Eola Publix downtown, then run the 7.1 miles to Milk Bar, Redlight Redlight, BART, and finish at Tap and Grind. It's free to participate and singles and groups are welcome!

At the Elks Club's monthly Vintage Fair (this Saturday at 8:30am), you can get creative with your next home decor project by browsing unique booths of used/vintage/old items.

Sunday, July 20th

This Sunday is the 6th Annual Southern Fried Sunday Benefit for The Mustard Seed. $10 cover includes music on multiple indoor and outdoor stages, food trucks, vendors, vintage cars, and pin-up girls. It starts in Mills50 at 3:00pm. 

Live Music in Orlando this Weekend
The Timucua Whitehouse is hosting another great art-music event this Sunday at 7:00pm, featuring pianist Addison Frei and art demos by Lisa Rodriguez. The event is free, but donations are appreciated; BYOB and food to share.

The Orange Blossom Blues Society presents its 6th Annual OBBS Musicians Relief Fund Benefit, featuring seven local bands this Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00pm at Blue 42. Your $5 cover helps musicians in need.

  2. I was here recently as photographer at events NYC. There was a small intimate bar next to the main hall and a nice covered patio area just outside a series of double doors on one side.
