Weekend Preview: August 1st - August 3rd, 2014

This weekend's going to get weird. Just go with it...

Friday, August 1st

As Kaleigh Baker's Summer Tour comes to an end, she'll be playing two shows in Orlando (the city she left... #NeverForget). Don't miss her performance this Friday, 9:30pm, at The Milk Bar. No cover (because she owes us that)

Come out and mingle with creative Orlandoans at this Friday's Snap! After Dark Social Salon. You know you want to. Everyone's going.... The event will feature a live fashion photo shoot, DJs, projections, and cocktails (basically, everything you expect from Snap + booze). But wait, tickets are $25! **Special Offer** We're putting the first 10 people to email us@theORLANDOAN.com on a special list for $20 tickets! Email us before 5:00pm and we'll confirm if you've made the cut; pay only $20 for your tickets at the door. Super easy!

Feeling like mingling Eyes-Wide-Shut-style? Well, imagine that movie without the orgies and you've got the Orlando Masquerade going on at Orchid Garden at Church Street Station (you know, the old Club Paris.... Don't act like you never tried it...). Tickets are $15 but register here and bring a backpack of school supplies to get in free! 9:00pm

It's that time again! That time where there's no parking in Audubon Park because it's Date Night at Leu Gardens! Catch the 1938 classic, You Can't Take It With You!, also the theme for the night at the Gardens (I see you getting that shovel ready). 8:30 pm, but get there early! $6 for adults, $3 for kids, free with a membership.

Feel like getting down with your date for a bit more of a risque' adventure? Head over to The Venue for Corsets and Cuties, A Burlesque Cabaret. Tix are $13.65 (damn fees....) and 8:00pm doors & cocktails, 9:00pm show

No girlfriend/boyfriend? Just want to hang and sing your geeky heart out? The Geek easy is having their weekly Nerdy Karaoke. 8:00pm, no cover, drink specials, and your ear may start bleeding.

Saturday, August 2nd

Cheer on your Orlando City Lions (so that you can proudly announce it to the world that you've been a fan since before they went MLS) at the Wide World of Sports as they play the Charlotte Eagles. 7:30pm game, GA tix start at $19.

Registration will be at Retro City Cycles beginning at 1 pm. Race will start promptly at 2:00pm. Rain or shine! Entry is $5 + canned food item to One Heart, and all bikes are welcome to enter (no helmet required.... but don't be an idiot).

1994 called- it wants it's slap bracelet back. And while you're at it, head over to Will's Pub for 1994 - A one night event celebrating music and culture from the year. The Pauses, Wet Nurse, and The New Lows will perform full cover sets featuring songs by Veruca Salt, Green Day, NIN, Dinosaur Jr., Pearl Jam, NOFX, Weezer, TLC, & many more. Also, expect other '94 related goodies: Movies/TV Shows, Video Games, a Blue Album-themed Photobooth, and a few more surprises. Tix are $8, show starts at 9:00pm

OR, just grab a beer and look at some neat local art at RLRL's Deadly Gardens Art Show. starts at 8:00pm, no cover.

Sunday, August 3rd

Are you surprised?
Downtown CREDO and the Parramore Kids Zone are organizing the 2nd Annual Bike Rally this Sunday at 10:00am. Don't be an asshole- bike for the kids!

Ever wanted to know how to ferment your own Kombucha??? Me neither! But this still sounds like hippy-fun! How To Make Your Own Kombucha At Home, 4:30pm at Wild Hare Kitchen and Garden Emporium (um, YES PLZ) in Longwood.
