Summer might almost be over (despite the 99 degrees in my car yesterday), but events in Orlando are starting to heat up again.
The Central Florida Film Festival is happening all weekend. Hosted in a nifty little theater in Ocoee, single tickets are $10, or get an all-day pass to hide out from the heat for $25 (which includes entry to all of the day's movies, one medium popcorn, one medium drink, and three Audience Choice Award ballots).
If haven't seen it already, stop by the Gallery at Avalon Island in Downtown to view 13 photographers' exhibits for TrIP - Transit Interpretation Project, which includes our very own Tina Craig! The galleries are open Thursday through Saturday, 11:00am to 6:00pm.
Not only is the Brevard Zoo turning 20 this year, it's also hosting its annual Cold-Blooded Weekend, from August 30th through September 1st. Every day from 10:00am to 3:00pm, meet venomous snakes, alligator snapping turtles, diamondback terrapins (aka more turtles), and other critters, complete with activities and prizes.
