Weekend Preview: October 3rd - 5th, 2014

It's October in Orlando, so let's collectively pretend it's not 90 degrees outside and break out our lightweight scarfs and switch to hot lattes. While you transform yourself into a snow bunny, enjoy all the events going on this weekend!

Friday, October 3rd

Bust out your pink outfits and get your hurr did, it's time for First Friday Fotos: Pink Edition! To celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, McBeth Photography is having a pink backdrop for their amazing photo-shoots. $20 for a quick session, 3:00-9:00pm, 130 S. Orange Ave.

You know what's better than sneaking in a twist-off bottle of wine into the movie theater? (I mean, not that WE do that...) Not having to sneak at all! Bring your booze, picnic blankets, and let's face it- ponchos to Leu Gardens' Date Night movie on the lawn where they will be showing "The Birds". Opens at 6:00pm, movie at 7:30pm, $6.

Cap off an AWESOME week of Orlando Tech Week with perhaps the best T party you've ever been to. T-Party: Tech Week Wrap-Up Celebration! The challenge: wear either an old school T, a hilari-T, or a Local Love T (*coughORLANDODOESNTSUCKcough*). 7:00-10:00pm at Orlando Tech.

Saturday, October 4th

You know what else happens in October besides Pumpkin Spice Latte? ZOMBIETOBERFEST. The line-up of events starts at 2:00pm and is too long for us to list here so click that effing link! (Includes Yoga for Zombies and a Zombie Outbreak Cure Scavenger Hunt)

Don't you love how blunt and sassy Germans are? Join the German American Society of Central Florida for "Orlando Most Authentic Oktoberfest." Yes. That is the actual name of the event. So obviously you have to be there unless you hate beer and good food. $5, 2:00-11:00pm. Prost!

"We need to make books cool again. If you go home with somebody and they don't have books, don't f--k them." Based on that philosophy, you know the John Waters Inspired Art Show at the Falcon Bar is going to be awesome. The show starts at 8pm, and we hear the Falcon Bar is dog friendly!

Sunday, October 5th

Have you ever gone to a Thai restaurant and wanted to order something other than Pad Thai but had o idea what else to try? The 13th Annual Taste of Thailand Food Festival can help you discover new, amazing dishes as well as give you a glimpse into the rich and colorful Thai culture with Muay Thai Boxing, traditional music, and classical Thai dances. $12, 9:00am-3:00pm at the Wat Florida Dhammaram Buddhist Meditation Center.

You know what you need? A little fabulous musical number with those eggs benedict. Hamburger Mary's has you covered with their Sunday Broadway Brunch! Call ahead to reserve a table because it fills up fast! 11:00am-1:30pm, bring your appetite and sense of fun because these gals will not let you have a boring time.
You. Better. Werk.
