Don't call it a comeback! After a quick Thanksgiving break, we're back with awesome events happening in Orlando this weekend.
Friday, December 5th
While we know most of you will be at the GWAR show tonight, for those that didn't get tickets there is still an opportunity to have a great time and wake up the next day wondering where that unexplained tattoo came from, why the room is spinning, and just who is that next to you in bed. Stigma Tattoo Bar is hosting Repeal Day: A Live Presentation of the Drunken Odyssey where you can listen to a live writing podcast of some local literary stars and celebrate the day prohibition ended! 7pm, free.
You know what I love? A good tree lighting celebration to make me forget it's raining and 77 degrees in December (ugh, thanks Obama). Check out the entire list of things to do leading up to it at the City of Orlando's Tree Lighting Celebration from 5:00 to 10:00pm; free at Lake Eola.
If you're a little further north and don't want to deal with traffic, the City of Winter Park is also holding its Tree Lighting Celebration at 5pm on Park Ave. for free.
Saturday, December 6th
Local gamers, your day is here! Indienomicon is a free festival showcasing independent games made by Orlandoans. Dress up, play games, meet friends, geek out, and spend the day from noon - 5pm at the Downtown Library (try the food from the library, it's awesome). There will be prizes for best cosplay, and from the pictures we've seen, it looks like an awesome time! There will also be vendors if you'd like to get some geeky holiday shopping done.

The Falcon is holding its C-Note Collection: Grab & Go Arty Party where you can donate toys for those who might not otherwise get presents this year (you'll get 50% off your first drink!) and buy local art for your holiday list (all art under $100). Starts at 8:00pm and is featuring some awesome local artists' work. Shop local!
Sunday, December 7th
To continue your shopping local for the holiday season adventure, Dandelion Communitea Cafe brings you SPARKLE Handmade Artisan Market that will feature a bunch of local artists, crafters, and jewelry designers from 11:00am to 5:00pm. There will also be a raffle to benefit The Avian Reconditioning Center for Birds of Prey and there might even be a bird of prey in attendance! You'll spot it easily because it'll be the only creature eating meat at the event without being judged. (Just joshin' ya, I love my fellow vegans.)
This Sunday, why not keep with the local theme and go to the movies to watch films made by fellow Orlandoans? Enzian's FilmSlam starts at 1:00pm, $5. FilmSlam is in its 8th year, so you know you're being part of a great and lasting Orlando tradition.
What are you up to this weekend Orlandoans? Tell us below!
OUC Orlando Half Marathon is on Saturday. Start/Finish and after party is at Lake Eola, but it will circle from there south from 7:30 to 11:00 AM with some live music and cheering areas along the route. This is the closest we have to a downtown city marathon.
