The Florida State Fair kicks off this weekend outside Tampa. It's happening February 5th through the 16th with all the things you love about fairs: fried this, stuffed that, crazy rides, and plenty of "Wow, that's how people used to live?" exhibits. Tickets are $7 to $9.

Also kicking off this weekend is the 40th Annual Mount Dora Arts Festival. The down buzzes with art, food, and music this Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

The FAVO First Friday and Saturday Art Show and Market is going on this weekend. Stop by Friday from 5:00 to 9:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm for art, food trucks, kids' activities, and live music.

Smiling Bison is hosted its First Thursday Songwriter Series this Thursday from 8:00 to 11:00pm with live acts and good food.

This Thursday is the third annual Orlando Mix Tape. It's $25, but I'm sneaking it in because this concert benefits the amazing Urban Think Foundation, a non-profit that supports local culture, education, literacy, and literature. Tickets can be purchased at The Social starting at 7:30pm.

It's time for another Date Night Movie at Lou Gardens, Gardens open at 6:00pm and the movie starts at 7:30pm. $6 adults, free for members.

Start your Valentine's Day activities early this year with some great events this Sunday. One is Vintage Valentines, happening all day in the in the Audubon Park Garden District. Up in Winter Park, The Sweetest Sounds is a free Valentine's Day Concert in Central Park from 4:00 to 6:30pm.
