The 15 Minutes of Fame Festival of Short Films is this Saturday and Sunday. Admission to all shows is free, with local and international movies screened in 45-minute blocks.

If MegaCon was too general for you, then you'll probably enjoy the very-specific Florida Anime Experience, a convention all about anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture. The convention starts around 11:00am each day and tickets for Friday or Sunday are $20; free parking.

The Apopka Art and Foliage Festival is this Saturday and Sunday with lots of plant vendors, food stands, art, and entertainment.

Friday, April 24th

Friday night means Nerdy Karaoke night at The Geek Easy (hidden in the back of A Comic Shop). Starting at 8:00pm, grab a drink special and belt your heart out.

Also in a nerdy vein, Bikes, Beans & Bordeaux hosts another APGD Cult Trivia Night, this Friday at 7:00pm, and it's all about Star Wars.

It's the last month of the Morse Museum's Open House until November, so visit the museum for free this Friday until 8:00pm. Starting at 5:00pm, enjoy music by Paint It  Black Orchestra and take part in a curator tour at 7:00pm. All free!

Come out for poetry, book signings, and drinks at the last Wine & Sign Fridays during National Poetry Month. Stop by Bookmark It at East End Market this Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

Saturday, April 25th

Happy Earthday! Celebrate our much-abused planet this Saturday at the Central Florida Earth Day 2015, from 10:00am to 6:00pm at Lake Eola Park. This free event will include plenty of exhibits, booths, presentations, pet adoptions, and more.

Whether you're fighting off the plague or just hankering for a good brew, come out to the Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Downtown Orlando for the Festival of Saint Arnold, with craft beer, wine, three food trucks, and cathedral tours; noon to 4:00pm.

Oktoberfest only comes once a year, but thank goodness there's also the Spring German Fest. This Saturday from 2:00pm until 11:00pm, come to the German American Society of Central Florida's half-timber hideaway up in Casselberry for Bavarian food, German beer, and live music; entry is $5.

The 10th Annual Downtown Pour is your chance to get sloshed taste great wines and other libations at over 100 stops. Pre-sale tickets are $20 to enjoy lots of wine samples, live music, art, and food for purchase.

Hardcore pubcrawlers should take note of the innuendo-rich Pussy Pump Pub Crawl, hosted by Tittie-Thyme this Saturday at 7:30pm. The free crawl starts at Wally's, where a rum and coke is really a quadruple shot of rum with a teaspoon of soda.

Sunday, April 26th

The 15 Minutes of Fame Festival of Short Films is this Saturday and Sunday. Admission to all shows is free, with local and international movies screened in 45-minute blocks.

The still-kicking Bob Carr Theater is hosting MAYSfest 2015 this Sunday at 4:00pm featuring a choir accompanied by the Metropolitan Area Youth Symphony; tickets are $15.
