The 15 Minutes of Fame Festival of Short Films is this Saturday and Sunday. Admission to all shows is free, with local and international movies screened in 45-minute blocks.
If MegaCon was too general for you, then you'll probably enjoy the very-specific Florida Anime Experience, a convention all about anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture. The convention starts around 11:00am each day and tickets for Friday or Sunday are $20; free parking.

Friday, April 24th
Friday night means Nerdy Karaoke night at The Geek Easy (hidden in the back of A Comic Shop). Starting at 8:00pm, grab a drink special and belt your heart out.
Also in a nerdy vein, Bikes, Beans & Bordeaux hosts another APGD Cult Trivia Night, this Friday at 7:00pm, and it's all about Star Wars.
It's the last month of the Morse Museum's Open House until November, so visit the museum for free this Friday until 8:00pm. Starting at 5:00pm, enjoy music by Paint It Black Orchestra and take part in a curator tour at 7:00pm. All free!
Come out for poetry, book signings, and drinks at the last Wine & Sign Fridays during National Poetry Month. Stop by Bookmark It at East End Market this Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

Happy Earthday! Celebrate our much-abused planet this Saturday at the Central Florida Earth Day 2015, from 10:00am to 6:00pm at Lake Eola Park. This free event will include plenty of exhibits, booths, presentations, pet adoptions, and more.
Whether you're fighting off the plague or just hankering for a good brew, come out to the Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Downtown Orlando for the Festival of Saint Arnold, with craft beer, wine, three food trucks, and cathedral tours; noon to 4:00pm.
Oktoberfest only comes once a year, but thank goodness there's also the Spring German Fest. This Saturday from 2:00pm until 11:00pm, come to the German American Society of Central Florida's half-timber hideaway up in Casselberry for Bavarian food, German beer, and live music; entry is $5.

The still-kicking Bob Carr Theater is hosting MAYSfest 2015 this Sunday at 4:00pm featuring a choir accompanied by the Metropolitan Area Youth Symphony; tickets are $15.
